Eschscholzia californica 'Moonglow'

California poppy 'Moonglow'

A California native that is usually seen in its bright orange form. In Not Quite Happily Ever After Sara prefers this one, with it soft creamy color, for her garden, but she needs to weed out any bright orange ones that appear to keep the softer color pure in the next generation. Although they are thought of as annuals, coming up easily from seed sown in late fall before the winter rains begin, individual plants, if cut back after blooming will often overwinter and bloom the next year. Gophers seem to really like California Poppy and deer will eat them also.
